NORTHAMPTONSHIRE FIELD TRIPS 2008

Sunday, 11th May 10.30 a.m. Twywell Hills and Dales for early spring Skippers, Green Hairstreak and other grassland species, assessing the impact of our winter clearance work. Meet in the main car park, at S938772. Contact Doug Goddard

Sunday, 22nd June Open Day at Glapthorn Cow Pasture, joint meeting with the Northants Wildlife Trust. Members of Butterfly Conservation will be on hand from 10 a.m. and the Wildlife Trust from 2 p.m. to show visitors the rare Black Hairstreak. Come and join us at any time through the day. Park on the broad verge in the lane opposite the reserve entrance at TL005903. Contact Doug Goddard

Saturday, June 28th Guided Walk at Stanwick Lakes to record the species here, led by Doug Goddard. Places are limited and must be pre-booked, as this is part of the Stanwick programme, for which there is a charge for the walk and parking. Please contact Stanwick directly, Tel. 01933 625522

Saturday, July 5th Joint Meeting with the Lincolnshire Branch at Fermyn Wood, to look at Purple Emperor, White Admiral, Purple and White-letter Hairstreak and possibly Silver-washed Fritillary. Members of both branches will be on hand in the wood from 9 a.m. Park by the wood entrance opposite the Gliding Club at SP964858 and follow the main track through the wood.
